At my workplace, me and my manager were very close as we both used to share ideas to make our work more effective.

However, this didn’t last for long time. We started growing and new people joined our project. Now, we are three. Ideally, manager will have daily sync up meetings with his team and assign/track work for that day or for that week. However, my manager didn’t do that and he was thinking that I assign work to new joiner. As we are peer colleagues, I should not assign work to him. Due to this miscommunication, we as a team failed to deliver work on time. Due to this incident, my manager was bit upset. Next day, he called for a meeting and informed that he will assign tasks individually and individual person should work on his own tasks.

I felt very happy because, I can finish my tasks and have some free time to learn new things. Surprising thing is, my manager was very much upset as he didn’t expect that we will be very happy if he assigns tasks. Generally, its managers who track all work w.r.t individual person. He wanted me to take that responsibility. However, it was not communicated to me.

At noon, I met my manger in his cabin and we were discussing about work. He brought this managing work topic again and he said he will assign tasks to individual person. I repeated the same thing, yes it’s a good idea please go-ahead. He got frustrated and said, if I assign tasks to individual persons then I will hire people with low skills and lower price. Why I need to keep you in my team?

I was very much upset with his words. I couldn’t digest his words as me and my manager were very close and I worked with him for close to 2 years and we shared lot of ideas to make work simpler. After that incident, I wasn’t even able to complete a single task. My heart was burdened and I informed my manager that I am not keeping well and left office at 4:00 PM. That whole day I was very upset. I went to bed early by 9:00 PM.

Next day, I woke up early at 6:00 AM. Early morning with a fresh mind, I got a brilliant idea, got ready by 7:00 AM and reached office by 7:10 AM and completed all work that was pending on me and my team member and my manager. That way, I can keep my manager happy. However, I was still carrying that pain in my heart because, I didn’t forgive my manager. I felt this was a brilliant idea and started working on it.

First task: Brush my teeth!!!! I started brushing my teeth. Suddenly, my almighty GOD started talking to me.
– What should be your first task every day?
– What guarantee that you will complete all your tasks in a day?
– What guarantee that you can make your manager happy?

With these fruitful questions that almighty GOD planted in my mind, I revisited my plan again and it was completely rewritten. Here was my new plan:

Brush teeth, Read bible, surrender my pain to almighty GOD and take GOD’s help in forgiving my manager for hurting me. Next, get ready, reach office by 9:00 AM and work on tasks that are pending.

On that day, my reading was ISAIAH chapter 2. I was in doubt. How can almighty GOD speak to me through a scripture that is defined for that day. With that doubt, I started reading bible.

Miraculous thing happened on that day. I was reading ISAIAH chapter 2 and at ISAIAH 2:22 GOD says, PUT NO MORE CONFIDENCE IN MORTAL MAN. WHAT ARE THEY WORTH?

I was astonished with this scripture. Almighty GOD has cleared all my doubts and He spoke to me, why are you worried with the words uttered by a mortal man, what are they worth? Surrender to Me and forgive him. I was overwhelmed with my father almighty god’s response and surrendered my pain to His feet and surrendered my manger to GOD’s feet.

Reached office as per GODs plan at 9:00 AM and completed all my work on time. However, I was little calm and silent on that day. My manger came to my desk and asked me are you alright? Happily I said, Yes I am doing good, give me one more day to become normal. Even after Almighty GOD talked to me, it took 3 days to recover from that pain. What if I would have missed reading bible on that day? What if I didn’t forgive my manager? What if would have stick to MY first plan?

All these questions were thrown to trash because, My ALMIGHTY GOD was with me and He healed my heart, mind and soul.

After this incident, my manger and myself became very close and he started taking work from me to make sure I am not overburdened. What can I say to this wonderful experience? I just say.. Praise to almighty GOD.

With this wonderful experience, I learnt one beautiful lesson: Surrender to almighty GOD with all your heart, mind and soul and allow Him to dwell in your heart. He is there to take care of everything.

Almighty GOD, Thank you for giving me such a beautiful experience to become close to you my lord. Please help me to surrender my human pride and arrogance to Your feet and make You exalted though my work, through my life.

Thank you and praise you lord.
